Welcome to 45th Gloucester (Abbeydale) Beaver Scout Pack
Beaver scouts are our youngest members. They meet weekly to take part in a wide range of activities including games, crafts, singing, visits and good turns, along with plenty of outdoor activities. They will also have the opportunity to take part in the fun and excitement of camps and sleepovers. It may be the first time they spend a night away from home so it’s a real adventure for them.
At the 45th Gloucester (Abbeydale) the Beaver Scouts meet on a Tuesday evening at the Abbeydale Community & Sports Centre. Our meeting times are from 6.00pm-7.15pm.
The Beaver Scout leaders are Georgina Boylett, Matt Brown and Tom Hailes.
All leaders are CRB checked and undergo leader and First Aid training.
All are unpaid volunteers.
When Beaver Scouts join us they are invited to attend for 4/ 6 weeks to see if they like us before they are invested. This is where the Beaver Scout will make a promise and where they will become a full member of the pack by receiving a neckerchief and badges. Parents are invited to see their child invested.
Uniform can be purchased from the Scout Shop at Murray Hall, Tuffley which opens every Thursday evening in term time from 7pm-9pm or from scout shops on line. We suggest the uniform is only purchased once your child is happy to attend Beaver Scouts and is due to be invested. Their uniform is a turquoise polo shirt and sweatshirt, navy blue trousers and our Group Neckerchief,
Beaver Scouts work towards badges and awards, this can involve making things, going places and camping, building confidence and learning new skills, but most importantly having fun.
Fees for Beaver Scouts are paid by Standing Order of £12 per month on or before 12th of each month. The first two weeks are free. We will also ask you complete a gift aid declaration; Gift Aid is the government scheme that gives us 25 pence for every pound donated to us, which includes the membership fees you pay for your child.
